As a provider of training material for the U.S. Army Airborne Reconnaissance Low (ARL) mission support, SRCA was tasked to develop an animated demonstration of the Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) for flight crew education.

The TAWS is a system designed to inform the pilot with visual and audio cues of approaching landmass altitude risks. The animation provides a 3-dimensional representation of how the system interprets altitude changes in approaching terrain. Views are provided in color-coded tiers of risk while audio narration warnings sound when terrain comes within a defined distance range. This animation was created within Discreet 3D Studio Max.
