Publication Automation

SRCA has extensive knowledge in developing and creating dynamic and customizable user manuals and instructions. SRCA also creates an automated body text format and outline structure when using InDesign. This feature allows the current developer to make the appropriate changes to the content while the document will automatically update all following sections and pages. This automation also offers a completely dynamic and hyperlinked table of contents, glossary and index. If content must be changed, the developer only has to follow a few simple steps to create a totally new and linked table of content for publishing.

When changing a layout setting that affects page size, margins, or columns, SRCA has automated the adjustments through a set of logical rules to move and resize page guides and objects. Additionally, there are established character styles, which is a collection of character formatting attributes that can be applied to a selected range of text. These styles include both character and paragraph formatting attributes, and are applied to a selected paragraph or range of paragraphs. This saves time when revising text and graphics, and ensures all documents maintain consistency.

The process of automating and linking graphics is also a standard practice to allow for easy transitions and/or revisions within a document. All graphics are named and linked upon initial placement so no matter how often the files are moved, edited or cropped, when exporting or printing, the current program uses the links to retrieve the original graphics, creating the final output from the full resolution of the original files. These links minimize the size of a document by storing graphics outside the document file and saves time by updating all links at once.
